Every Freshworks partner in Dubai will tell you they are certified. Certification is the entry ticket, not the differentiator.
The gap between a Freshservice or Freshdesk rollout that sticks and one that gets quietly rebuilt eighteen months later is almost never the software. It is the decisions made during implementation, and those depend on who you hire to make them with you. Here are the questions we would ask if we were on the buying side.
1. How many implementations have you completed, and in which industries?
Ask for a number and a list, not a brochure. A partner that has delivered dozens of Freshservice rollouts for banks and telecoms has already met the approval chains, audit requirements and integration patterns you are about to run into. Workdeft has completed more than 100 Freshworks implementations across the GCC; whoever you shortlist should be able to state their figure just as plainly.
2. Who exactly will be on my project?
Sales teams are not delivery teams. Ask for the names, roles and locations of the consultants who will run discovery, configure the instance and handle cut-over. Ask how many other projects they are on at the same time. A partner with a real delivery centre can staff a programme properly; a two-person reseller cannot, however good the pitch deck.
3. Do you have people in the UAE, or only a mailbox?
Workshops with department heads, data protection conversations and go-live floor support are far easier with consultants who can be in your office in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Riyadh. Offshore delivery keeps costs sensible, but you want both: a local presence for the decisions and a delivery centre for the build.
4. What does your discovery phase actually produce?
If the answer is "we configure the product to your requirements", keep looking. A good partner produces a service catalogue design, an SLA model, a group and role structure, a data model for assets, and an integration inventory - all signed off before configuration starts. Ask to see a redacted design document from a previous client.
5. How do you handle migration from our current tool?
Listen for the words "mapping workbook", "sample migration" and "reconciliation". A partner who has migrated teams from ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, ManageEngine or Zendesk will talk about which tickets are worth moving and how statuses and categories map. One who has not will promise to move everything, which is how you end up with twelve years of closed tickets and no usable reporting.
6. Which integrations have you built, not just configured?
Marketplace apps cover the common cases. The ones that matter to you - your ERP, your HRMS, your core banking or BSS platform, your data warehouse - usually need middleware. Ask for examples of integrations the partner has engineered and how they are monitored and supported after go-live.
7. What happens in the ninety days after go-live?
Categories will be wrong, SLAs will need tuning, and two request items will account for a third of the volume. A partner that budgets hypercare and a 90-day review, and that offers managed administration afterwards, is planning for the platform to improve. One that disappears at sign-off is planning for the next sale.
8. Can you help with licensing as well as implementation?
Buying the wrong edition or the wrong agent count is expensive to fix. A partner that can advise on editions, size the agent pool and put licensing and services in one proposal gives you one accountable party instead of two.
The right partner will answer all eight questions in the first meeting, with specifics. If you are getting generalities, you are talking to a reseller, not an implementer.
